Prof S.C.Gulati earned his PhD from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University; M.Stat., Indian Statistical Institute (ISI); Diploma in Econometrics and Economic Planning (ISI); & B.A.(Hons) Maths, Delhi University.
Dr. S.C.Gulati retired as professor and head, Population Research Center, Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi in December 2010. His illustrious publication record comprises of eight books from national and international reputed publishers like Oxford University Press, Sage Publications, Academic Foundation, etc. Also more than 85 research articles in peer reviewed national and international journals covering research issues over population-development-environment interlinkages in India, using multivariate analytical statistical and econometric tools.
He was Senior-Consultant and Project-Coordinator of several prestigious projects sponsored by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), USAID, World Bank, World Resource Institute (WRI), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), National Commission for Women (NCW), Planning Commission, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, etc. He was associated in various capacities in technical advisory committees set up by Planning Commission, CSO, RG Office, NFHS, DLHS, IARI, etc.
After Retirement has pursued his research interest as Senior Consultant/Project Coordinator with Policy Unit and HMIS Capacity Building Project at NIHFW, and has authored several technical reports and substantial manuals on HMIS and MCTS, Evaluation of NRHM, etc.
